New York - Connecticut - New Jersey
Friday evening after work the Mrs and I had arrangements for me to pick her up from work. What better opportunity to head to the New Stamford Diner formally known as City Limits.
I couldn't wait to get there after overhearing a phone call with the wife and my mother in-law earlier in the week. She's very particular about the food that she eats and I heard three words that caught my attention. "It Was Good". We arrived after 7pm that Friday and there was available parking close by, nothing like getting priority parking especially when it's cold out. We entered and right away I couldn't necessarily notice any change to the decor, which is not really important to me. What counts is the food. We was seated right away, but I wanted to be comfortable so I immediately asked for a booth instead. Now for the important part. Lets look at the Menu.
I had trouble deciding what I wanted between breakfast or dinner. There where several things I wanted to try from both categories, so I did what any responsible person would do. I planned a trip back for breakfast and the wife agreed as well. This portion of the article I'm going to talk about what I devoured. That was a good o'l fashion Cheese Burger with all the fixins, "by the way can I have bacon on that as well" I recited to the waiter. The food came out pretty quickly and I can just taste the flame broiled smell so I was ready to dig in.
The cheese burger was incredible. It gave many restaurants including places that are known for there burgers more than a run for there money. Pictures say a thousand words so I hope there talking to you right now. All I can say if your in the Stamford Connecticut area, you might want to consider The Stamford Diner as a new force to be reckoned with.
It was time for the second visit and it was breakfast! I had chocolate chip pancakes, but the Mrs. She will tell her side of the story!
Maryland crab & lobster egg Benedict
It's Sunday afternoon and it's brunch time... the husband and I stop at The Stamford diner which he had stated previously that used to be City limits they have change there menu around and added some nice selective dishes ... more variety so it was a little difficult for me to choose as well. I repeated to myself "what do I wanted to eat". I LOVE seafood so I decided to go with the Maryland Crab & Lobster Egg Benedict with Hollandi sauce on the side. If you like crab & lobster you would love this dish ... Fresh crabmeat & Lobster on a English muffin with poached eggs on top and top it off with Hollandi Sauce Mmmm Mmmm so Good I couldn't stop eating it was so fluffy and light it was the best choice I made. Such as much; to the point I didn't want to share with the Mr. To top it off the pricing was just right!
Conclusion: So if you happen to be traveling through the New England area and passing through CT? Just stop by Stamford Diner and order that dish.
