New York - Connecticut - New Jersey
It was a fairly early Saturday evening and the Mrs and I already purchase tickets for a late night movie. With time to spare and a growling stomach it was a no brainer. Lets get something to eat to kill time and satisfy our hunger. Today we had multiple options in the North Haven area of Connecticut. Shopping centers with restaurants located all around.
We arrived at 7:30 and there's currently a 35 min wait to be seated. The actual seating time was 25 mins. We was placed in a booth which was very rewarding since it was crowded. We was given appropriate time to look over the menu which was at first overwhelming. Different specials advertised for the week yet, couldn't find any advertising deals for the weekend. You have to be careful especially if your on a budget where your selection can quickly add up here as if you would of gone to privately own seafood restaurant in NYC.
I finally balled everything down to get the taste that I think I'm looking for. I order the flounder baked in sea food stuffing with a side of garlic shrimp scampi which was an add on. The meal comes with a baked potato, broccoli and a side Caesar salad. The salad and red lobsters Cheddar garlic biscuits came out first. The salad didn't lack dressing like what you would usually find elsewhere. I found it a little on the salty side but wasn't overwhelming. The Cheddar biscuits didn't taste as I remember it to be as when I was a little younger. Maybe it's just me as my taste buds has changed a bit!
The stuff fish even though looked seasoned, it was just that a look. The shrimp scampi shared its flavor with the salad (Salty). The broccoli also lacked the crunch associated with freshly cooked vegetables. Mushy to the touch. The best thing on my plate was the mash potatoes to sum it all up. The Mrs Cocktail lobster and shrimp was to be as expected fresh and chilled. No cretic there.
Conclusion: If your looking for a place to get a little seafood on a budget this might be the place for you. I give this encounter 2.8 stars.
