New York - Connecticut - New Jersey
It was a Friday evening and pretty much tired of the same old places. The Mrs suggested we try Red Robin for the first time. It's been a period of 7 years together and 1 year 6 months since we tied the knot. We never stepped foot into Red Robin at the Milford Mall in Connecticut.
This particular time around we decided to give it a try, and man oh man we both said I don't know what we was thinking all this time. Having experienced other eateries that specialize in hamburgers Red Robin was the last of few places in our local area. We arrived and the mall and restaurant was fairly empty for a Friday evening. I already knew what I wanted to order, because of a recommendation from a coworker prior to getting there. I order the Southern Charm Burger which is a A ½ lb. Black Angus patty glazed with brown sugar and topped with candied bacon, honey BBQ sauce, sharp Cheddar, caramelized onions and mayo on a toasted ciabatta bun.
I can honestly say the taste took use by surprise. Not only there was a rich flavor but juicy as well. The response we had was "oh my God this is amazing". The patty was seasoned not like most places where its thrown on a grill with a little salt and pepper if that. Not the case here, each bite was with anticipation of the next. You know that thought you have when you don't want something good to come to an end. Yes this happens to be a chain restaurant which normally if anything tend to have a generic taste. I couldn't pass this review by or assume everyone who enjoys a good hamburger here and there has tried Red Robin.
Before I continue rambling on Ray ordered the Royal Red Robin. That comes with bacon and egg with melted American cheese, tomatoes, lettuce and mayo. Her reaction was the same as mine, with total shock wondering what took us so long to make it there. Where already looking to making our way back there on a lazy date night.
If your looking for a cocktail along with that delicious burger, there is a full bar with big screen TV's to satisfied your sports bar feel thrills. You can't go wrong here good drinks with good food and a little entertainment, might not be a bad place to meet up for your girls or guys night out!
Conclusion: We experienced high end restaurants where you pay up to $30 per hamburger and the taste hasn't even come close to Red Robins. I'm not saying that there isn't better tasting burgers out there, but don't under estimate the power of Red Robin. We give this joint 4.5 Star for a Taste well done!
